Loy Kathong Festival 2007

วันลอยกระทง เป็นวันเทศกาลสำคัญ วันหนึ่ง ของคนไทย ซึ่งจะมีขึ้นใน วันขึ้น 15ค่ำ เดือน 12 เป็นช่วงที่อากาศโปร่งใสสบาย และสิ้นสุดฤดูฝนแล้ว นอกจากนี้ ระดับน้ำ ในแม่น้ำ ลำคลอง ทั่วทั้งประเทศ ก็มีระดับสูงด้วย เทศกาลลอยกระทง จะเริ่มในช่วงเย็น เมื่อพระจันทร์เต็มดวง ประชาชนจาก ทุกสาขาอาชีพ จะนำกระทงของตน ไปยังแม่น้ำ ที่ใกล้ๆ หลังจาก จุดเทียนไข และธูปแล้ว จึงตั้งจิตอธิษฐาน ในสิ่งที่ ตนปรารถนา แล้วจึงค่อยๆ วางกระทงลงในน้ำ แล้วปล่อยให้ กระทงลอยไปจนสุดสายตา การประกวดสาวงาม ก็เป็น ส่วนสำคัญของ เทศกาลนี้ เช่นกัน แต่ว่า ในโอกาส เช่นนี้ เราเรียกว่า “การประกวดนางนพมาศ” นางนพมาศ เป็นสตรีใน ตำนานครั้ง กรุง สุโขทัย ตามหลักฐาน กล่าวว่า นางนพมาศ เป็นสนมเอก ของพระเจ้า กรุงสุโขทัย พระนาม ว่า "ลิไท" กล่าวกันว่า นางนพมาศ เป็นคนแรก ที่ทำกระทง ประดับประดา สวยงาม เพื่อลอยใน ลำน้ำ ในโอกาสนี้ ในการนี้ ทางโรงแรมณุศา พลาญ่า โฮเต็ล แอนด์ ก็ได้จัดการประกวดนางนพมาศขึ้นเช่นกัน เพื่อเป็นการสืบสานวัฒนธรรมไทยที่ดี ซึ่งการประกวดในครั้งนี้ได้จัดขึ้นที่ The Glass Pub & Restaurant ของวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน 2550 เวลา 20.00 น. ซึ่งสร้างความประทับใจให้กับบรรดาแขกของโรงแรมเป็นอย่างมาก

Loy Krathong is one of the most popular festivals of Thailand celebrated annually on the Full-Moon Day of the Twelfth Lunar Month. It takes place at a time when the weather is fine as the rainy season is over and there is a high water level all over the country. The festival starts in the evening when there is a full moon in the sky. People of all walks of life carry their Krathongs to the nearby rivers. After lighting candles and joss-sticks and making a wish, they gently place the Krathongs on the water and let them drift away till they go out of sight. A Beauty Queen Contest is an important part of the festival and for this occasion. It is called "The Noppamas Queen Contest". Noppamas is a legendary figure from the Sukhothai period. Old documents refer to her as the chief royal consort of a Sukhothai Kng named "Lithai". Noppamas was said to have made the first decorated Krathong to float in the river. On this occasion Nusa Playa Hotel & Spa held the Noppamas Queen Contest as well in order to conserve a traditional Thai culture. It was held at The Glass Pub & Restaurant on 24 November 2007 at 8 p.m. It is our impression to have a chance to entertain our hotel guests in this special event.
